Junot Diaz’s story “Fiesta, 1980” from his story collection Drown. I love this story. Reading it on BART this morning, overtired, I cried a little. I can’t find the full text anywhere online, but that means you should buy his collection from your local bookstore (and you might want to read The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao while you’re at it). Diaz writes like a house on fire. Not sure what that means; did I mention I’m tired?
And, later on BART, this excellent and terrifying article on climate change by Bill McKibben from the latest Rolling Stone.
Happy reading,
Susie
